Carol Severin won the award for Honorary Life Membership by the California Association of Recreation and Park Districts (CARPD). The award was part of CARPD’s annual conference in Incline Village on April 23-26.  

Carol Severin:

  • Has been a Board Member on East Bay Regional Park District since 1994
  • Represents Castro Valley, Hayward, Union City, and a portion of Fremont
  • District Representative for:
    • Hayward Area Shoreline Planning Agency
    • Association of Bay Area Governments - Regional Planning Committee
    • Alameda County
    • Alameda County California Special Districts Association (CSDA)
    • CARPD
    • Dublin
    • Fremont
    • Livermore Area Recreation & Park District

CARPD was established in 1958 and is dedicated to improving the quality and efficiency of California’s recreation and park districts.  Through two joint powers authorities, the 65 recreation and park districts that are members of CARPD are eligible for reduced rates on worker compensation coverage and liability/property damage insurance – saving local communities thousands of dollars.  Each spring, CARPD hosts an annual conference and awards competition to recognize outstanding programming, facilities, and service to the community.
