2009 Awards of Excellence Recipients

Outstanding Group:

Pleasant Hill Recreation & Park District

Pleasant Hill Baseball Association won the award for Outstanding Group in the state by the California Association of Recreation and Park Districts (CARPD). The award was part of CARPD’s annual conference in Incline Village on April 23-26.  

Pleasant Hill Baseball Association:

  • Was established in 1958
  • Promotes, equips, governs, and sponsors baseball and softball as played by youth 5-14 years of age
  • Uses the doctrine of Positive Coaching
  • In honor of their 50th Anniversary, built a 2500 sq ft sports building at Pleasant Oaks Park (Pleasant Hill Recreation & Park District)

CARPD was established in 1958 and is dedicated to improving the quality and efficiency of California’s recreation and park districts.  Through two joint powers authorities, the 65 recreation and park districts that are members of CARPD are eligible for reduced rates on worker compensation coverage and liability/property damage insurance – saving local communities thousands of dollars.  Each spring, CARPD hosts an annual conference and awards competition to recognize outstanding programming, facilities, and service to the community.
